I felt helpless in the profit-driven medical industry. This book helped me to realize that I have options and gave me concrete ways to advocate for better and cheaper health care.

What a terrific, empowering book! I used to think I had no control over what kind of healthcare I received from my HMO. Now, with the help of "Listen To Me, Doctor" I know how to negotiate the healthcare maze! I have reduced doctors fees, prevented unneccessary prescription drug purchases (I got free samples) and I still get quality healthcare! Ms. Schwartz is very knowlegable and gives the reader quick and easy "what-to-do" advice. I've been recommending "Listen To Me, Doctor" to all my friends and family...they love it and you will too! Listen To Me, Doctor is a terrific, straight-forward consumer oriented guide to our healthcare system. Ms. Schwartz came through her medical ordeal with concrete tips on how everyone can find their way through the healthcare maze in one piece! The information I needed most was on how to save money! Negotiate with your doctor? What a novel concept...but I did it and saved a lot of money as well. Get prescription samples from your doctor? I asked, and I was given everything I asked for, and for free. I did remember to do what Ms. Schwartz insists on...getting proper information on how to take the prescriptions and all information on possible adverse reactions. I recommend this book for anyone who goes to doctors, buys medication, etc. In fact, I recommend this book for everyone!

After my HMO dropped my doctor from their plan, I had two days to find a new doctor. LISTEN TO ME, DOCTOR gave me ALL the help I needed to find the right doctor who would give me quality health care. I loved the concise information on checking a doctor's credentials and finding the doctor that would work best with me. What a terrific empowering book. I no longer feel I have to take what I get. Now, I get the best. The best information in LISTEN TO ME, DOCTOR? How to deal with the parent/child/pediatrician relationship. My daughter is learning early how to be healthy and stay healthy, and how to have a good relationship with her doctor (it only took me 39 years to figure that out). I highly recommend this book to anyone facing a medical crisis, or just wanting to find quality health care.

Who says a book can't make a difference? When my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, my husband and I had to wade through Medicare requirements as well as her newly switched supplemental HMO and the sea of new doctors and specialists it included. Listen To Me, Doctor gave us information on senior care, women's health care, doctor/patient relations, Medicare and HMO's. It empowered us to get the medical attention she deserved. You'd be surprised what kind of quality care you can receive when you approach the medical field from the standpoint of a consumer instead of a powerless victim/patient. Thank you, Ms. Schwartz, for your easy-to-understand book. It has earned a permanent place on our bookshelf.
