My mellow pick-hit of the year...,

This is one cool song. It throws a mellow-funky groove with the single best lyric of the year (If you wanna come over/come over and get high/we can listen to the Dark Side/of the Moon) against the wall and makes it stick like a buttered biscuit. Three and a half minutes of pop bliss. My local triple-AAA station has been playing the grooves off of this one and I can see it making a run at mainstream radio before long. It's a winner of debut single from Charlie Mars' fifth album, 'Like a Bird, Like a Plane'. Definitely makes me want to dig a little deeper into his catalog.Way to go, Charlie. Oh, and dating Mary-Louise Parker ain't a bad stretch, either. You got it goin' on, man. Recommended. |
