4.0 out of 5 stars Those people who did that "Roxette" song, November 11, 2005
This review is from: Listen to Your Heart (Audio CD)
Chances are you know D.H.T. as "those people who re-did that Roxette song". That's certainly the way I was introduced to this Belgian duo of Edmée Daenen and Flor Theeuwes, and I instantly loved their cover of "Listen to Your Heart".

This upbeat Euro-dance pop team comes to us compliments of Robbins Entertainment, the people who brought us D.J. Sammy, with his hot version of Bryan Adams "Heaven".

Unfortunately, the album doesn't have more tracks like the infectious lead off single, and although their ballads are quite good, I was looking for more dance and trance tracks.

Other good tracks are "I Miss You" (trance); "At Seventeen" (pop); and "Someone" (ballad).

A nice mix of pop, trance and ballads, and certainly a good choice for fans of Euro music.

3.0 out of 5 stars Anticipated this one...sort of let down..., July 25, 2005
By Daniel W. Kelly (Long Island, NY United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Listen to Your Heart (Audio CD)
As others have mentioned, it's not an all out dance disc. And it's also not the level of dance I'd have hoped for based on the lead-off single. While the style reminds me of Lasgo (and so does the vocalists voice), few tracks live up to that energy level of vocal trance like "Listen to You Heart"-only "I Miss You" gave me what I had hoped for. If you're looking for a disc loaded with that Lasgo and Ian Van Dahl sound, check out the recently released CD "Closer by Milk Inc. It's astounding.

Here's the breakdown of dance tunes and ballads:

Dance tracks:

Listen to your Heart (but you also get the unplugged version)
At Seventeen remake (it's a commercial house track, not trancey)
I Miss You (gorgeous trance)
I Can't be Your Friend (happy dance)
Sun (happy dance-annoyingly so)
Why (aggressive, darker house track)
Depressed (very moody and dark trance track)

Ballads:

I Go Crazy remake
Someone
Driver's Seat remake (disappointing-I'd love to hear a dance version of this)
My Dream

4.0 out of 5 stars even better than I'd expected....., July 19, 2005
This review is from: Listen to Your Heart (Audio CD)
D.H.T. had many previous singles released overseas before releasing this record in the United States. Many of their previous singles followed the trend of this hard-house intense style, which in my opinion didn't sound all that well. But with buying this album, I took a gamble, only having heard a few songs. But to my surprise, I love this cd, not only is it not made in that "hard-house" style, it has many varieties of styles which keep the flow of the album interesting. Overall, it kind of reminds of me of Ace of Base's sophomore album "The Bridge" (which also mixed many styles onto one disk).

the best songs on this album in my opinion are the lead single "Listen To Your Heart", which I'm sure everyone's heard by now. the euro-dance style cover of Janis Ian's "At Seventeen"; The trance infused "I Miss You" which follows the sound of fellow Belgian dance acts such as Ian Van Dahl, or Sylver. My absolute favorite song is "I Can't Be Your Friend" which is trancy with a slight hint of euro-dance, it almost reminds me of "Feels Like Heaven" by Camino featuring Jeanna; and finally "Why" which sounds a lot like a song you would hear on Lasgo's debut album, "Some Things."

I've anticipated the release of this album for quite some time, and it is totally worth the wait, it does not disappoint.

3.0 out of 5 stars ' Okay, for a dance album, ' Good for a chillin' out album.
