This book seems to be a bit more geared towards maybe at least a 3 year old, who is entering or attending pre-school. I like the writing style, as it is very easy for our son to understand (21 months old) and was very impressed with the diversity shown in the illustrations of the children in the story. I wish more books were like this. The reason I felt the book seemed geared towards older kids is that the story shows the children sitting in a circle for the teacher. I think a child who has visited a pre-school or is going to pre-school can identify with it a bit more....but I believe the story is well written and well illustrated. I would be happy to find a similar book, but one that shows the child listening to their Parents!

All the books in this series are wonderful "teachers" for children. It is simply told yet the lesson is direct. I love the fact that the illustration show the differences between people (multi cultural,physical disabilities, young and old). My 3 year old grandson loves these books.

I got this book hoping it would help my 3year old wuth issues he was having at Daycare. I was about to pull out my hair, thinking he was going to be labled as a brat. Well I bought this book and others in the collection and it helped. I read this book and Hands Are Not For Hitting ever night for 2 weeks and now he is having "Good Days" at daycare now. I still read them to him a few nights a week, plus he really likes them. So if your having probs with your child try these books.

If you find it impossible to get your toddler to settle down to focus in on what you are saying -- and isn't that ALL toddlers?? -- you must have this book!

Instead of letting your frustration take over and find yourself yelling "Are you listening to me?" over and over again, this book will help your kids to focus in on whatever you are trying to get them to do. I purchased two copies of Listening Time for two toddlers in our family. Let's just say that this book is sent from Heaven, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

This book got my 2 year old's attention with each page that I read aloud. He actually followed the "directions" given in the book on "what a good listener looks like"...extremely effective.

This book came in a great timely manner! My daughter loves to read this book all of the time. I think it is more focused for a home daycare or regular daycare setting. But still a great read with a good lesson for my two year old!

This one is more about circle time than what I was hoping for. I need a good book to help as I teach my toddler about listening to adults, particularly about safety issues like "stop", "hot", "danger", etc. This book is about sitting to listen in a group setting. It would be great for a preschool or kindergarten or church school setting. Verdick's book series provides really great tools and parent/caregiver tips. I have really enjoyed the series with my toddler and highly recommend her books.
