1.0 out of 5 stars Please do not LISTENN, July 14, 2006
This review is from: Listennn the Album (Audio CD)
This guy is so overrated. He has been in Miami ruining the radio with his wack mixes and constant screaming. If your from 305 you will know what I mean. Now he may have ruinded some MC's careers by adding them to his so called CD. Only the young bucks like him and its a shame because they are growing up listening to cr@p! The whole CD is lame, thank goodness I heard it from someone else since I would never spend a dime on this. How he got into TS is beyond me. I feel it's an insult to TS. They must have felt sorry for him. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS!

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm sure listennnnnnnning, August 4, 2006
This review is from: Listennn the Album (Audio CD)
This album is extremely creative with some pretty sick beats layed doen by DJ Khaled. Countless guest appearances make this album truly special and just enjoying to listen to. This album may not be one of the best of 2006 but it is definitely worth your money and you will not be disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars 1-1/2 Stars -- DJ Khaled... Listennn: The Mixtape, July 6, 2006
This review is from: Listennn the Album (Audio CD)
Well I've heard my share of DJ mixtapes and albums but Miami native DJ Khaled has to be one of the most hyped ones in the mainstream with the success of his smash hit of "Holla At Me". Because of the success with that he decided to bring his other work in and squeeze it all into one album and encourages you all to quote on quote "Listennn!", but the reality is there's nothing special here.

Well I miswrote my title because Reviewer Constant was on point when he said this is in reality a mixtape with intros and tons of shoutouts. And I think Khaled you need to produce more than 3 tracks for this to be your album (that's been a distrubing trend lately). And there's too many songs with dope beats matched by boring lyrics and vice-versa.

I couldn't find anything dope on here and that includes "Holla At Me" because when you think about it it's your typical party joint that gets played in the club but no one is really talking about anything. Things are also a little too predictable like the laid back "Grammy Family" and "It's A Problem with Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel dropping sub-par lyrics. And there's too many recycled topics on here as you can tell from the song titles of Juelz Santana's cut "Addicted" and "Candy Paint" with Chamillonaire and Slim Thug. "Never Be Nothing Like Me" has a very dope beat, but unfortuantley Lil' Scrappy brings it down lyrically.

Things get interesting when speed rappers Bone-Thugs N Harmony and Twista team up for "Destroy You" but it's still skiappble. Baby still hasn't improved his rap style on "Still Fly" and just when I thought Lil Wayne could save the day he dissapointed me on "M.I.A." The only thing that's even worth listening too is "Dip Slide Ride Out" with T.I. shining over the laid back beat (along with his posses from P$C Big Kuntry and Young Dro), so I strongly encourage you to ignoreee this mess.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dont Listennn to this album, February 2, 2007
This review is from: Listennn the Album (Audio CD)
Straight off the bat, DJ Khaled is the most overrated DJ in the world! He only got by on a few artists who were naive enough to big him up as a dope DJ. I've heard my share of bad DJ albums and this one has to be the worst. Born N Raised feat Pitbull, Trick Daddy and Rick Ross, Grammy Family feat Kanye West and Consequence and Problem feat Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel are the only songs worth mentioning on this album. These three tracks are the light in this dark tunnel. Holla At Me feat Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Paul Wall and Pitbull is straight garbage. You know its a problem when Paul Wall and Rick Ross have the best verse in a song. More filler would appear in the form of Candy Paint(feat Slim Thug, Trina and Chamillionaire), MIA(feat Lil Wayne), Watch out feat Styles P and Akon, Gangsta S***(feat Young Jeezy), Never Nothing Like Me(feat Lil Scrappy), The Future Of Dade County(feat Brisco) etc. Dip Slide Ride Out feat T.I and P$C is pretty much filler that was originally supposed to be on T.I's King album. Twista and Bone Thugs N Harmony deliver the most dissapointing collabo of all time called Destroy You. The rest of this album is too wack to even go into detail. Bottom Line: DJ Khaled's Listennn is the worst DJ album from the most overrated DJ of all time! When you only have three dope joints and vast amounts of filler on your album plus there is way too much hype around you then you're going to be rightfully labeled as overrated. This album substantiates that claim perfectly and proves that hype sells over quality any day. Standout Tracks: BORN N RAISED, GRAMMY FAMILY and PROBLEM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Listennn To The 'Toughest' Album of the Summer, August 30, 2006
This review is from: Listennn the Album (Audio CD)
The best albumm of the summer. A Combination of A list artists over A list Tracks. was very impressed and feel that its a matter of time before Dj Khaled genious takes over the entire country, he was a steal for Terror Squad and will ressurect them higher than they ever were. Before it is all said and done there should be about 6 singles off this album...Look out!
