5.0 out of 5 stars nice, sturdy, well-made medical scissors
I guess all of us nurses feel the need for bandage scissors in our pockets, and this is a sturdy, well-made pair. I'd buy them again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fair enough
Excellent service and shiping time. A fair value for the money. A typical value for medical instruments made in Pakistan. Not top of the line, but a good value for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very decent scissors, especially for the price, June 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Well finished, with nicely honed blades, it absolutely will get the job done, but I wouldn't exactly call it a precision surgical instrument, nor a pinnacle of the metal-worker's art. The sort of scissors a medical professional would trust by his/her side for years, but would probably toss in the garbage on retirement day, rather than passing on as a treasured gift to future generations.

5.0 out of 5 stars nursing scissors, November 28, 2010

I'm a nurse and I had the same pair of scissors for about 20 years. I mourned when I lost them. Then I found on amazon that they are fairly cheap, so I bought three pairs of these scissors. I don't worry about losing them much anymore, they are sharp and work well on dressings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good instrument, great price, July 3, 2010
I recently purchased 2 pairs each of the 7.5" Lister Sharp/Blunt (3 dollar version) and 5.5" Lister Sharp/Blunt w/ clip (again the $3 version). They arrived promptly and in good condition. I tested them on cardboard, denim and a terrycloth towel and they cut well through all. They appear to be pretty sturdy, but are not as heavy and thick as some I have run across, but those were probably $15+ scissors. The price is what got the 5th star on these scissors. I can't speak to their longevity yet, but in my ER experience these kind of things tend to get borrowed permanently before they break. So I ordered multiples, and at the price I can afford to make this purchase again once my stockpile has been depleted, hopefully not for a couple years though.

Scissors were as advertised, fast shipment and undamaged. Worked great for removing tape from my daughter's ankles that she gets tapped before each basketball game.

4.0 out of 5 stars ok, not great., August 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These scissors are only adequate. They are a bit on the smaller side. Somehow, I was thinking that 4 1/2inch scissors would be a bit larger. The blade portion of these scissors is very short. The quality is good but I wish I had ordered a pair a bit larger with a longer cutting blade.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for daily use, April 19, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm a visiting nurse, and I go house to house using these scissors on anything from rayon tape, to denim for cutting pants open to let a patient put a cast through their pants.
I bought multiple pairs because in my line of work, I go through a pair of scissors every few months depending on my patients care.
These, you can't sharpen. I have tried and they are not worth it to get them done professionally.
So, I buy them for the price and the color. Other nurses don't have gold scissors, so they are easy to claim as mine!
So, I gave them 3 stars (because they don't have half stars) for price, moderate durability, and color.

For the price they hold up for $5, so you can't really complain. They really weren't made to cut pants, cardboard, and plastic.

Oh, I'm writing this on the patients account, who found them for me. and purchased them. I paid him back. But he asked me to write a review. Otherwise I'd never write one. (snicker)

5.0 out of 5 stars Appear good, ordered two sizes, April 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered the Adult 4-1/2" (#B000FBT3V6 for $5.99) and the 5-1/2" w/ clip (#B000GHDP1S for $7.99). First impression seems good. I haven't had any with a clip in the past, so don't have anything to compare them to, but it appears to be stuck on decently (appears to be a chemical weld or glued on, it isn't screwed). The 5-1/2" are a great size.

The finger holes on the 4-1/2" are a bit smaller than another 4-1/2" pair of bandage scissors I ordered from Amazon at the same time (#B002WJHE1K by Prestige Medical instead of those in this review by ADC). This makes these by ADC a little less comfortable to use then those by Prestige Medical. I will probably use these 4-1/2" in a first aid kit where I don't have to use them as often.

The 5-1/2" w/ clip I will be using in the hospital. I will try to update this review after some use as well to say how they hold up. I gave it a 5 star review at this time because at this point they aren't a bad option (especially for the price) except for the smaller finger holes, which for some may be a good thing. I hope this was helpful.
