intense, but not yucky,
By Shelley Gammon "Geek" (Kaufman, Texas USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash, Cool Mint - 500 ml (Health and Beauty)
Listerine still has the intense mouth-odor-killing antiseptic power that feels like your tongue is getting cauterized, but no longer are users forced to endure the antiquated yucky taste of their original flavor. The cool mint is cool enough to help you endure the 30 seconds of swishing to kill the bacteria that cause bad breath.

This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash - 17.5 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
It's one of the best products on the market in its category. I used it countless times to generally make my mouth feel clean. Listerine did all that it intended to do, however; the taste is terrible! In spite of the taste, I would buy this product again.

It's not a pleasant-tasting product. While the packaging and bottle are attractive and the product labels are informative, the mouthwash tasted awful. I wouldn't recommend this product to friends or family because there are many superior products available.

This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash - 17.5 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
This mouthwash definitely does what it sets out to do ... take care of the halitosis problem. There are no special features that I liked about it; actually, I prefer some of the other flavors available (mint or cinnamon) over Listerine's ""mediciny"" taste. Unless there was a huge price difference, I'd probably choose a product with one of these other flavors over this particular flavor of Listerine in the future.

Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash is an excellent product. My breath has improved 100% since I started using it. It has a strong flavor that my wife didn't like, but for me was just perfect. It helped my gums to be healthier. For sure I'll continue using it!!

I used this product in the mornings after waking up. It really worked great to get rid of that nasty morning breath and general yucky feeling in my mouth.

This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash - 17.5 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
I think Listerine is the only mouthwash I've ever used that really works to relieve bad breath and get rid of my gingivitis. Sure, the taste is not the greatest, but sacrifices can be made. I hear they are making better tasting kinds of Listerine now. I'd definitely recommend Listerine over Scope, and especially Plax -- yuck! I'll continue to buy Listerine -- my dentist recommends it, too!

This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash - 17.5 fl oz (Health and Beauty)
Listerine left my mouth feeling very refreshed and clean tasting. The only thing I didn't like about this particular one was that it left a medicinal taste in my mouth after using it. A different flavored one would be much better. Otherwise, I liked the product; it did what it was intended to. I would recommend it to family and friends.

Listerine has the reputation of being quite ""mediciney,"" but this new Fresh Burst flavor tastes pretty good. And it's still ADA approved to kill germs in the mouth, something that keeps gums healthy. It's too strong for kids, but great for adults.

Works but unpleasant; Cheaper in CVS (than here),
This review is from: Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwash, Fresh Burst - 500 ml (Health and Beauty)
I've been using this since forever, and although it has an awful taste (alcohol?), it does appear to work. My dentist is always commenting on my mouth (gums, etc.) being in great condition, which is a result of daily brushing, flossing, and rinsing with Listerine (I tried Tom's of Maine, which tasted much better, but consists of sweetened water with no apparent antibacterial action, so I went back to Listerine). I've been using Listerine for a very long time, and although I'm disgusted by the procedure itself, the results seem good, so I'll go on, even if grudgingly. Can't they remove this bite somehow? Anyway... recommended, but because of repuslive taste I'll give it only four stars.Btw, I just bought a bottle of this at CVS for four-thirty-eight. Also, I ignore the recommendation to rinse and leave it alone: I rinse again with water to get rid of it. Two reasons: first, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this already, but I hate the taste of this crap, and second, the bottle says not to swallow it: now, how are you gonna not swallow it if you leave it in? It's so gross that the flow of saliva is much increased and you WILL, willy-nilly, swallow it. Either that, or you'll have to spit all the time, which is hardly practicable. So I wash it out. I like these idiot dentists making their impossible recommendations. I rinse about a minute and gargle and then wash it off. And this seems to work fine -- I've been doing it for decades and my mouth is just fine, I hardly ever need any work done. |
