The Listerine PocketPack mint strips, will give you fresh breath for a couple of hours with no known side-effects. It may sound funny, but it'd rather leave home without my American Express than take off without one of them PocketPacks.
I've been using the Listerine PocketPacks for about 10 years now and it's been hardly a day without me using at least one of them strips. Typically, I use 3-6 strips each day and I do that because, as far as I know, they are the best breath freshener there is. I will not compare the PocketPack strips with the competition, whatever that is but, here are the benefits of using them, as I see them:
- small - I keep them in my shirt pocket, in my car's cup holders, in my office
- near-zero calories
- dissolve almost instantly
- long lasting freshness - like I said, I used 3-6 in a typical day
- cool mint flavor - it may seem too strong the first time you try it but you get used to them quickly
- affordable
Make sure that you keep them in a dry place - the label recommends under 77% humidity because moisture in the air can cause for the strips to melt and stick together. Other than that, they never spoil and don't seem to lose their potency over time.
I used these for the past 10 years and I'll probably be using them for as long as they are available for purchase.

These things really work to give you a quick dose of fresh breath. They are really conveniently sized too so you can just throw a pack of them in your pocket and take them with you. It makes things really helpful when you just want to freshen up after lunch or dinner or something and don't have time to go brush up.
The only potential negative is that the taste is really strong. The first couple I tried almost knocked me over. Over time though you quickly get used to them and now I don't mind them at all. If you haven't had one before you should probably buy one pack to try before getting this huge size from Amazon. (Oh yeah, this is a lot of these things in one order...it is 6 packs of 3 PocketPaks of 24 strips each...or 432 strips.)
Buy it if you want/need a quick, convenient way to freshen up when you can't brush.

These are not quite as effective as swishing with listeine mouthwash, but who wants to carry around a bottle. They are very convenient to carry around in your pocket. I wonder if that's why they are called pocketpacks?
My one gripe is that in humid environments (I live in a fairly dry climate) they stick together and you end up having to use two or three at a time. While this is still effective it is very potent on the tastebuds and wastes a lot of strips. I can't imagine using these in humid climates unless you use up the pack in a couple days before they all clump together.
