I got this for my son who is 5. He tends to give tooth brushing a lick and a promise. I thought this would make it more fun for him as well as show him where he really needs to brush more.
This stuff does not do what I thought it does. I thought it stuck to plaque and showed the really nasty areas. My brother and I used some red disclosing solution as kids - I thought that's what this was. Brush your teeth, use the red stuff, see how poor a job you did.
This just dyes everything pale blue. I guess in theory you have to brush everything to get all the blue off but it comes off very easily so it really doesn't do much good.
Very disappointing. I'm going to purchase something sold as disclosing solution instead. I squeezed all of the agent blue out and poured it down the sink - total waste of money and total waste of counter space.

My children use the Listerine rinse every day. I admit to a little disappointment at first, because the dye stained the whole mouth and didn't seem to target plaque; but the kids like it and it does motivate them to brush. I watch them brush and stare at their blue teeth in the mirror, making sure they get all the blue.
I tried it myself and the flavor isn't bad. I tried just using it and then just rinsing to see if it would come off without brushing. My teeth stayed a pale blue, but it was so pale, I don't think most kids would notice. Just a slight brushing will remove it. In fact, if I brush one side and not the other, the toothpaste removes it from the whole mouth. The kids don't know that because they never rinse before using the toothpaste. The blue tint makes them spend more time brushing, so that earns this product a bump up to three stars.

I bought this for my kids a couple of years ago and they hated it. They said it tasted bad and didn't want to use it, so I threw it away. Two years and some cavities later I thought we'd try again since they are now older and perhaps the taste wouldn't bother them as much. They still hate the taste, and they said it burns their mouths. On top of that, it doesn't seem to work. As another reviewer said, it just seemed to turn everything light blue and it is very easy to wash off. My son's teeth looked almost normal within a few seconds of rinsing, and he hadn't even brushed yet!

This was formerly recalled
We tried this but couldn't continue to use it. I read that it was recalled in 2007 and that is too creepy for me.
