Formed: 1989 (20 years ago) BiographyA major player throughout the post-grunge boom of the late '90s, Lit featured the combined talents of frontman A. Jay Popoff, his guitar-playing brother Jeremy, bassist Kevin Baldes, and drummer Allen Shellenberger. The group formed in 1990 in Orange County, CA, where it initially performed metal-influenced music under the name Razzle. They originally formed under the name Razzle in the 1990s and gained a large following on the basis of gigs. They changed their name in time for the release of their debut album, A Place in the Sun (1999), which was a platinum selling success and generated the award winning hit single "My Own Worst Enemy", "Zip-Lock" and "Miserable".
