I had an old one that was shaped and sized the same. This Amazon one is a copy and looks similar but is much lighter in weight. Since lamp shades don't need to be sturdy that is not an issue.

My mother received two "ginger jar" lamps from my father when he was in Vietnam (1968). She had these turned into lamps with the appropriate wiring and lamp shades. When I inherited these lamps, there was much work to be done to them. For one thing, the wiring had to be replaced -- one lamp blew a fuse the very day that I moved into my home. So, I acquired the re-wiring kits from Amazon.com (a great deal!). Next, we needed shades. Much as I love my mother, she was extremely tight with the nickel, if you will. I don't think I have ever known anyone as good with money as she was. . . Unfortunately, the lamp shades that she had for these lamps were worn out, inappropriate, and (yes) even the wrong color. I waited and searched on Amazon.com for something that would work with these lamps -- and learning about lamp sizing along the way. This shade was perfect! And the price was even better. . . something I could live with. The whole living room takes on a different -- and improved -- feel with these lamp shades. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to enliven a room.
