Combination of Reserach and Easy Read,

We often must chose a book that's an easy read, or a book with a clear research base. This book does both. A great read for anyone looking to have a successful literacy program in elementary schools. Walpole and McKenna get past the buzzwords and provide concrete examples that will help students.

Literacy Coach,
This review is from: The Literacy Coach's Handbook: A Guide to Research-Based Practice (Solving Problems in the Teaching of Literacy) (Paperback)
As a "new" literacy coach I felt this book was invaluable in helping me acquire a complete understanding of what the role is and can be. I have already referred to this text several times as I get ready for school and will continue to reference it throughout the school year. It's an excellent source of information!

This book was a grad school required text for class. As a grad student studying for my reading specialists license, this text was very helpful in informing me on how to run a reading program in a school. With the importance of RTI implementation in the schools, this book was very knowledgeable.

I'm using this handbook for my master in Literacy, and it's a very helpful tool. I teach 4th grade Reading and Language Arts, and there are so many strategies that I will take from this book to implement in my classroom right away. This book is a must-have for every single Reading teacher, specialist, or curriculum coordinator...great guide, practical, and easy to understand.

Great source for research,

This review is from: The Literacy Coach's Handbook: A Guide to Research-Based Practice (Solving Problems in the Teaching of Literacy) (Paperback)
The contents of this book are exactly what the subtitle describes: research-based. The info provides an important foundation on the theory behind what we're doing and the implications for best practices.
