I bought this book for my thirty-two year old son who loves to cook and loves to read especially the classics. I was very pleased with the literary selections. It was an excellent little gift this Christmas for someone who remembers the passages regarding the food eaten and enjoyed in books from the past and present.

We used this book as a theme to plan our Christmas dinner. We chose courses from the book and had diners match them to relevant quotations. Great fun!
