Great read for students of History of Arabic Language,
This review is from: A Literary History of the Arabs (Paperback)
An amazing discourse on the history and development of the Arabic language, starting from its emergence in historical times to the middle of the 20th Century. The author provides lucid and very readable details of the people and personalities involved in the development of the Language, all the while providing the cultural and historical background involved therein.
Highly recommended to anyone who wants to understand how the language of the desert came around to be the language of the Civilized World at its time.
