About the Author
Ralph Kite earned a Ph.D. in Ibero-American Studies from the University of New Mexico. He spent several years organizing and directing Peace Corps language training programs at New Mexico and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He continued to pursue interests in different teaching and learning approaches (film, computers, and theater) at the University of Colorado-Boulder where he served as chair for 10 years.
Lynn A. Sandstedt is a native of Colorado and a Ph.D. graduate in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He taught at the University of Northern Colorado for 22 years and served as Chairman of the Foreign Language Department and the Department of Hispanic Studies.
Dr. Sandstedt has co-authored several textbooks for use at the university level, and has been very active in the profession. He was elected to serve on ACTFL Executive and later was elected to serve as president. He was elected president of the AATSP and several years later was selected to be the Executive Director. Lynn has received several prestigious awards for his work in Foreign Language Education. Two of the most recent honors have been the receipt of the Robert G. Mead, Jr. Award for Distinguished Leadership and Scholarly Contributions to the Profession given by the AATSP, and The Cross of Alfonso X given by King Juan Carlos and the Ministry of Education of Spain for outstanding contributions to the teaching of Spanish. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Okay but big rip-off,

This book is okay. Most of the stories are pretty good. I really liked "Manana de sol" and "Un dia de estos." It has convenient explanatory notes in the margins. It features some very famous paintings, but they aren't presently terribly well. Most of them are crammed three to a page. My real problem with the book is the extortionate price. I personally wouldn't pay more than twenty dollars for it. Don't get this unless you have to for a class.
