This review is from: Adorama Lithium-Ion Camcorder Battery (Wireless), Replacement for the JVC BNVF-815, 7.4v 2000 mAh (Electronics)
When I buy these after-market or however we politely call "knock-offs" my only need is for them to work. I purchased this battery to be the main battery for my JVC HM-200 camcorder, which came with a token battery that holds 700mAh and lasted not long enough for me to EVER not be concerned about it dying in the middle of an event. This battery came, I put it on the camcorder, charged it with the camera AC plug (I do not have an external charger yet), and it still shows three of three bars after several hours of taping and reviewing in-camera. It appears to me that 2000mAh is much more than three times the power of 700mAh, though I am not a techno-goofball. Bottom line-it holds a charge of several hours and now I do not have to worry about the original puny little battery going dead. Looks and feels like the JVC battery that runs around $60-$80. Also, I could swear at the time I got this thing in March it was $12-15 bucks...now it is listed for $36. Perhaps the one I bought is elsewhere in the Amazon listings (I know it was so inexpensive I had to try it) and I am reviewing the wrong battery ---probably not, as this review comes out of my purchases listings. Lastly, I'm whimsically smiling about why people discuss in detail the pros and cons of the additional size and weight of bigger camcorder batteries in their reviews....I mean, it's the size of a chubby smoke detector battery.
