I purchased two of these light fixtures, both were placed near attic openings, so the base of the lights' could not exceed twelve inches. These both look nice and fit the space. The light that comes with the fixture puts out great light, more then the old two bulb fixture did! It was easy to install, although the directions were not so great. I would recommend this light highly.
