I've owned two of the earlier model (R4 instead of M4) and found the ballast will only last about 2 to 2-1/2 years. The only realistic price for ballast replacement is the Keystone ballast website; approximately $20. Other than the weak ballast, it's a great looking light and the outer globe is very easy to remove. I'm not sure if this slightly newer model has an improved ballast. Just be aware of this potential problem.

I have two earlier models of this fixture so this is my 3rd. The following dimensions are from memory since the fixture is already mounted. I purchased from Amazon, so this only applies to the item that Amazon sends out, not the other vendors.

1. All 3 use different ballasts and means of mounting the diffuser. The ballast on the newest one is rather odd. It is about 4" x 3" and is mounted right in the middle of the fixture. In order to pass the wires to the wiring box the ballast has a 1/2" hole in the middle of it. The consequence of this is that the slotted mounting holes provided on the older models to adapt to different mounting requirements has been replaced by one pair of fixed location holes with 3.5" spacing. Since I needed 2.75" spacing and the ballast is so large I couldn't even make two holes in the right location. I had to fabricate an adapter plate out of scrap 1/8" aluminum that I had laying around.

2. This fixture holds the diffuser on with three easily accessible levers. An improvement over the three thumb screws used on my oldest fixture and a toss-up compared to the 3 spring clips used on my second fixture. It might be slightly more translucent than the older diffusers. I prefer this because so much light is lost passing through the plastic.

3. The 12" fluorescent tube was received broken without any damage to the outer shipping box or the factory box inside. It must be due to poor factory packaging. I don't mind because they always ship these lights with very bluish fluorescent tubes and I never use them anyhow. The tubes included were 4100K and I always use 3000K to get a more friendly light color. I think the 2800K tube color is too warm. I wish they didn't include the circline tubes and just sold the fixture for less.

Installed about two months ago to replace same Lithonia model I had for 18 years.

New fixture lasted 61 days and went kaput.

Got the lights in a reasonable amount of time. Got them installed and they looked great. Unfortunately less than a month in one of the lights just stopped working. We re-checked our bulbs and wiring and the problem seems to be the fixture itself. The other light is doing fine so hopefully it was just one bad fixture.

I bought this because I broke the lens on the first one I had and the price of the replacement lens was not much less than the price of a whole new fixture. It works fine.

Nice looking light, but arrived with large circular bulb broken. No damage to light box or Amazon shipping box. Frustrated. Returned
