Book Description

December 19, 2000 0766827070 978-0766827073 5
This book is the most comprehensive text available and examines all facets of civil litigation. This is the only litigation text for the paralegal that makes an effort to explain legal theory and trial strategy. The focus is on judicial procedures and rules of law, not generic law office procedures. The authors' objective is to make paralegal full members of the litigation team so they know what is happening and what the next step should be. Paralegals should feel as though they are contributors, not merely assisting. Since civil litigation is directed and controlled by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, this book focuses on the rules, explains those rules, how they operate and how they apply to a paralegal's work. Paralegals who master the information in this book will be able to communicate effectively with lawyers about civil litigation matters.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The writing style is excellent, reading level is appropriate...The exhibits collection is awesome, examples are vivid, the hypothetical at beginning has great potential...I would definitely consider text for a year-long civil procedure course. - Melody Brown, Eastern Idaho Technical College

Content and Organization work very well with the 2 semester format of litigation courses...The case assignments are the most useful. - Sally Bisson, College of Saint Mary

It achieves its objective with a straightforward approach that avoids venturing off course into problem areas. --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Old edition, very marked up by previous owner and warped covers, but still relevant - content was very helpful, educational. Similar titles today's editions would have cost me 8 times more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inadequate Book Description, July 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Book was in nice condition, as stated and it arrived promptly. The big problem was it is for a paralegal and that had not been explained to potential buyers. Consequently, it is inadequate for my purposes ans I have to sell it on.
