This is by far the worst scooping litter box. If I hadn't already used it, I would have returned it. The openings in the litter rake are two wide, the metal tines are horrible they squash the poop and the clumps and it barely rakes any litter into the receptable. When it does scoop the rake does not put it in the receptable, but at the very edge of it so it will then when the lid comes back down everything get squished on the lid. Littermaid should do a recall and fix the problem.

Even though I got warnings not to stray from the basic littermaid I decided to try this as Amazon didn't have the basic in stock. I am so unhappy with this. The rake leaves lots of waste behind, and its just a big ole waste. I am finding myself scooping it as well.. Please don't waste your money, stick with the basic littermaid, the Elite is for for me!!

Please, do yourself a favor, if you are remotely thinking about buying this - please save your money .. or donate it to charity .. or something other than buy something that will be in a landfill in less than 6 months. Look up the reviews for the Littermaid Elite box that doesn't include the accessories this one does .. it's probably one of the worst reviewed products on Amazon in terms of the quantity of bad reviews .. These are the worst things ever made, and unsurprisingly, they have found ways to use even cheaper materials, and worse. I won't go into the details in this review, but check out the Littermaid Deluxe regular edition for real reviews. Don't throw your money away. Please don't.

I was very disappointed in this product. I had bought a LitterMaid Self-Cleaning Litter Box about 7 years ago and loved it! Even with 4 cats using it, it worked very well; albeit I ended up getting a new one yearly under warranty, but there was never a hassle. I decided to try another product that didn't use litter so got rid of that LM.

This year I decided to try the LM again and liked the price of this set. I did read the reviews and was disappointed in what I read, but I thought how could it be that bad after that original one I had owned had been so great for so many years? I decided to give it a try again anyway. Well, the reviews were spot on. This litter box is terrible. I used a recommended litter product (Arm & Hammer), and within 2 days I knew that I was not going to like this litter box. The litter stuck to the rake immediately. The rake didn't get down low enough to get all of the wet litter. The litter stuck to the ramp going into the disposal container. Although the motor was not extremely loud, it was irritating listening to it "try" to motor on and push the litter into the disposal container. It sounded like a car with a starter problem. This LM is awful!

At the same time as I was trialing this product, I also was trialing another product that I absolutely LOVE! So I bought another one of that product and now am an extremely happy cat owner! This LM product lasted 3 weeks in my home (only used until the new one came in). I'll probably keep it around as a desperate backup, but other than that I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

I am extremely disappointed in this product. It states it is for large or multiple cats; however, it fails to remove feces and clean the box properly with my one small cat( which is three years old). Recommends clumping litter be used; however this causes the rake to spray litter outside of box. The cover/tent is very difficult to remove from box once assembled. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in this product. I would not recommend it and; and I do not feel it is worth the price I paid for it.

I was so wishing this would be everything I wanted it to be but alas I was let down. My cat did not like it. There was to much noise coming from it. We even tried to ease her into it by having her use it without it turned on for a few days. Then I turned it on and while she still used it she was very hesitant. Then it never really scooped up her litter all the way. I used their litter too. It seems like a really good deal and overall for the price it is, its just that it didnt work out for me or my cat.

I've been happy with LitterMaid for a number of years now, and this product is no exception. I find - as with anything - you must take care of your product, but it has served me and my pets in a reliable, consistent manner.

If you assess your needs, and take care to keep the product in a decent/clean manner, I would expect you to have a worry-free experience and would guess you would be as pleased as my family has been with the multiple products acquired over the years.

This product is completely and totally useless. The motor which drives the rake is so weak that is stuggles to pass through completely clean litter and it totally incapable of scooping even the smallest of droppings. In the two weeks I have had the litter box it has yet to run successfully once. I put in the request for a return just a couple minutes ago and will be looking for a replacement model now.

And just to frame my experience I have purchased various other automatic litter boxes over the years so my expectations on their functionality have been somewhere tempered over time. I know they jam from time to time and you are probably still going to spend some time every couple of days cleaning up the bits it missed so I don't think I had unreasonably high expectations for this product.

My wife asked for some cats (I am a dog lover.... but want to please my wife and make her happy). She said she had a littermaid automatic litter box when she was single and it worked awsome and lasted ten years. So buying a "new and improved one" was a no brainer. Then when she became pregnant, her doctor informed me I had to clean the litter box because pregnant women can't come in contact with "used/dirty" litter.

This product resulted in litter being spilled out of the box making a horrible mess in the hallway where we kept it. The mechanism only removed about 85% of the clumps, which ment I had to sift through the litter anyway to completly clean the box. The disposable containers that hold the waste did not seal so the box reaked if you did not clean/empty/replace the waste recepticle daily (we had two cats using it).

So in the end, after spending the $200 for the product we ended up with more litter scatted on the floor, more work involved in cleaning the box, and horrible smells that were worse than the standard $10 litter box.

To put it in perspective I (the inherently lazy husband) chose to switch back to the standard litter box because it was less work and easier to deal with....

We returned the product and got our money back.

THE ABSLOUTE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY, IT DOES NOT PICK UP THE CATS WASTE AND YOU HAVE TO SCOOP IT ANYWAY I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS I THREW AWAY THE BOX WHEN I GOT IT AND OF COURSE IT IS NOW USED. SO THE GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY I SPENT ON THIS PRODUCT IS DOWN THE DRAIN. THE CLASSIC MODEL I HAD PREVIOUSLY I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH, WHY DIDN'T I BUY THAT ONE .
