works well enough- but,

Plain old charcoal briquettes work even better. We have 3 cats, and our littermaid gets a workout. The filters did cut the odor, but I've found that a couple of charcoal briquettes works really well, and they're much cheaper.

Better, but,

The filters do seem to do the job. The odor from the cat box is less than without the filter. But the adhesive that holds it in place could be better. Frequently the filter ends up in the receptacle because the adhesive has failed.

The carbon filters are great. We have just recently had a friend move in with us and brought her cat and we still can't tell that they have been usung the litterbox. the filters eliminate all odors.

My wife insists that these "filters" reduce odor. I think they do reduce odor, but only by a small margin. Maybe 15% or less. My biggest complaint is the cost. These simple carbon stickers are way overpriced, just as the plastic waste recepticles are overpriced. I think a better alternative is to buy a Febreze True Air filter, which lasts a month or longer, and plug it in near the litter box.The carbon filter on the True Air filter is much larger and is active versus passive. As an added bonus, some True Air models come with a nightlight to help kitty see when he/she has to use the box at night. Please reconsider spending money on these cheap carbon stickers. As a final note, I have had no issues with these falling off once applied.

I bought the automatic Littermaid scooper that uses these filters. Unfortunately the filters need to be changed almost daily to keep odors down. This can be very expensive however I have bought liners for it on Ebay and now change the liners. The filters also come with a charcoal stick on to fit the lid but it always falls off after the first or second time the litterbox rakes. I have to tape the charcoal pad to the receptacle lid. Manual scooping? versus electric scooping? is still an unanswered question for me. Both are a lot of dirty work. Louise Buckner

Adhesive doesn't stick very well - just use a bit of baking soda,

Not worth the money when a bit of baking soda or cat box deodorizer in the catch box works just as well. The barbeque briquette is a clever and cheap idea BUT If you decide to use a charcoal briquette, DON'T USE SELF LIGHTING TYPES - THEY CONTAIN A FLAMMABLE ADDITIVE.

Worthless-no impact on odor whatsoever,

These filters have no discernable impact on odor. It is far better (and cost effective) to simply apply baking soda or some other odor absorbent to the litter box and the litter tray.

I've only used these when they were included with the purchase of a new LitterMaid litter box. They seem to have only a slight impact on odor levels.

Well, I don't know if these do anything or not. Never really tried it without. Sometimes I can smell the litter when the cleaning process opens the lid of the bin, but only for a couple of minutes. Often these filters don't stay stuck on the top and fall into the bin. I don't know if that matters, it should still be absorbing odor, but that is my only issue.

I self improved the LitterMaid use.,

GOOD NEWS to all. I rarely have to change a new waste recepticle. Because I use the super market vegetable/produce plastic bag to put over the waste recepticle. It is very easy to change. Just turn the plastic bag over, tied the bag, throw it away. Hands are clean. It's been 10 years. I haven't finished the recepticles that came with the machine yet. So I never had to buy any. Save lots of money. The best part is NO CLEANING at all. The carbon stickers does not stick firm on the lid. It drops down to the litter. I do find it helps with the odor. However, use baking soda in recepticle also helps the odor.
