We have had one of these mats for years and after trying several others, it's the only one with which we are 95% satisfied. Because it is ridged "carpeting" it keeps the litter as close to the box as we've been able to accomplish. The current one finally got smelly after about 5-6 years and I have been on an odyssey trying to find another one, as none of the local (SF Bay Area) pet stores seem to carry it anymore. The mats with the synthetic big looped fibers which are not carpet-like, as this one is, catch on our cats' claws and they hate that and end up pulling the mat up over and over as a result - "thumpa, thumpa, thumpa" - and they invariably scratch on the mat if litter is spilled. These loopy mats also let the litter spill beyond the mat and you also can't sweep the litter off those mats. The ridged foam ones get torn up within days; little foam tubes all over the house. The other smaller ones we've tried do not keep the litter close to the box. This one can be washed outside with a hose and is porous so it dries in the sun fairly quickly. Not instantaneously though, so you have to plan for sun when you wash it. As far as we are concerned, its only drawback is that it can't be washed and dried by machine. Thank the kitty gods that they still make it!

We use World's best cat litter and I think the cat throws litter from the box just to spite us. We put this mat out and it does collect her litter. However, unless you vacuum this mat you sitll have litter dust all over the thing; sweeping alone does not get the litter off the mat. Then one day I found this exact same mat at our big box home improvement store. It was the same size and everything but it wasn't folded, rolled, and put in a box to market it for cat use. It was marketed for boots, lying flat, and less than half the price.

We use this with our regular old litter box. It does a great job of keeping the litter contained and our floors protected. The size is generous, but not too big. It's much better than those tiny plastic mats that you see in the pet stores. I'm buying another for our other box.

This rug fits perfectly under the LitterMaid automatic litterboxes, either the regular or the Mega. We have one rug under each box in our house and it contains any tracked litter wonderfully - no more litter on the floor. As an added plus, our cat also scratches on this mat constantly.

My cat DIGS like crazy in the litter box and the litter ends up scattered around the entire box and gets tracked all over the floor in the laundry room. I had to sweep the floor twice a day before I purchased this mat. Now he can dig all he wants and the litter is confined mostly to the mat. Very little gets tracked around and I can go a few days without sweeping. It's big enough cover enough of the area surrounding the litter box. It's very sturdy and easy to dump off the litter it holds, shake it out and put it back under the box like new. I actually bought two of these. If you have a cat, you need one of these!

Not much to say about a mat. It was rolled when received, but a couple of books and about an hour and it was nice and flat. Just the right size for under the LitterMaid. Keeps the litter that falls through and around the box so I can just shake out on the porch and put it back, the carpet under is protected.

I had a little rug from ikea that did not prevent tracking. This mat is definately better than the other rug I had. it doesn't stop all tracking but it makes a good difference. It cleans up easily...i just dump the litter it collects back into the litter box when i scoop.

This litter box carpet is awesome!!! As my cats leave the box it picks up the litter from their paws so no more tracking litter around the house! Best of all it is really easy to clean! I would recommend this product to anyone who has a houseful of kitties!

We just got a new kitten and I was dreading the litter box scatter problem. Our last cat would get it everywhere. We tried everything with her. Crystal litter was the closest we ever got to containing the scatter to the laundry room. Litter box carpet didn't work for her, because she'd just jump over it.

Enter LitterMaid Litter Box Carpet. I use it in conjunction with Clevercat Top Entry Litter Box and Precious Cat Kitten Attract Kitten Training Litter. This litter box carpet is soft to the touch, so the kitten doesn't avoid walking on it. It is large, so she will jump onto it. It is textured with rows of carpet grooves to catch stray litter. Although there is still scatter, the difference is phenomenal. The best thing is litter doesn't track into the carpet just outside the laundry room.

I have 3 cats. One poohs and pees, then immediately jumps out of the litter box, creating a HUGE mess for me to clean up all the time! She's just crazy!
I have bought more than 5 different types of Litter Mats, and this one is THE BEST so far.

My boyfriend has litter duty, so he placed the litter mat, directly in front of the litter box - at the middle Horizontally.
It works so good, I haven't had to clean litter up off my hard wood floor in a few days now.
