On each left-hand page, we see a capital letter and an alliteration consisting of an adjective and an animal name.(H, hungry hippo). On each right-hand page, we see an appropriate illustration. The book is small, but the illustrations are large. The book might be large enough to show to a group of children.

My 3 year old daughter has had this book since she first turned 2. She doesn't care for this book much when we are at home. However, it is great to pull out with a few crayons at the doctors office or in the car.

While this has great illustrations, make sure you read the dimensions before you buy it! It came today and I was totally surprised that it's about 5 inches tall. I like it, and we'll use it, but I should have followed my advice. ;)
