More About the Author

I'm a parent just like you. I have two children and I feel like I know what you're facing and what you're feeling. I know you're crazy busy, and I know what it's like to love a child so much you can hardly stand it. I know you want to raise a wonderful, happy, successful child, someone who has a great life full of joy and purpose and meaningful friendships and interesting challenges. I played my first ever football game at the age of twenty and went on to an outstanding career at Acadia University (BA (hon) MA) and in the CFL and XFL. I won 2 Grey Cup championships, was a seven-time all star and was named to the Edmonton Eskimos All Century team. I believe that guiding children so that they understand the principles behind the pursuit of excellence is a core obligation of all sport parents and community coaches. My mission is to cutting edge motivational tools for sport parents, athletes, and coaches that helps them create the powerful, positive, resiliant mental outlook all champions have that eventually leads to outstanding real world results in sport and beyond. I've been waiting for a book like this for awhile. Anyone with small children sometimes has difficulty navigating the world of minor sports. The author does a nice job of providing a road map.

I really like the author's positive attitude as well. I looked at minor sports in a completely different light after reading this book. No matter how old your child is, or how competitive the sport, there are great life lessons that can be learned in every practice and every game. And a lot of those lessons can be applied to our own lives too.

I've read a lot of sporting books and this one is up there with my favorites!
The author, a former CFL player and Grey Cup winner, did a wonderful job sharing his own experiences with sport, using wondefully selected quotes and other fasinating stories to get his message across to the reader.
It's a quick and effective read that you will want to keep close at hand so you can reread certain passages and quotes that you will be sure to have underlined your first read through!
Although the book is written around sports it can apply to any activity your child is involved in because it's about encouraging not only your child but the children around you and most importantly, loving your child unconditionally and making sure they know and believe that.
Once you've read it you'll be recommending it to all the parents and coaches you know!
