The book has wonderful recipes we all remember eating. The recipes include ingredients one can get anywhere. The artwork is also special. I didn't see a single "weird" recipe and felt "comfort" even looking at the pictures. If you want "cutting edge", don't buy this book. If you want to make simple food you can cook without a cooking class and make food everyone will actually love, you found the right book. I may have some of these recipes in other books, but not within one book so beautifully illustrated.

HAVEN'T TRIED ANY OF THE RECIPIES, BUT THE BOOK IS TO CUTE! WOULD BUY MORE OF THESE BOOKS! WOULD MAKE GREAT GIFTS!

Purchased this book for my daughter, who was constantly using her sister's. They both love this cook book. Very nostalgic look, comforting all by itself. My daughters have become cult followers for these recipes. Personally, I like my stew recipe better.

These are the foods you had as a child--and maybe your parents had as children! This book is comfort food all the way. You won't find these recipes on today's internet- they came right from your grandmother's recipe box!
