Mr. E sings with his heart on his sleeve. As he sings (presumably to a bird on his porch), you can feel his struggles with a bad breakup. Though the song itself is not complex, it is elegant in its simplicity. Some people might find the subject matter depressing, but he does offer some optimism as well, realizing that "it's gonna mend" though he "can't take on very much" for the time being.

Boring. Sounds like a piece written by an individual who had delusions of being a poet. Well I'm sorry to say the words never made it from the brain onto the page.
