i bought this for the sweet 16 month old i babysit, thinking educationally. i'm just not ready to teach him that "f" is for "ffftt" (fart), "s" is for splat, when the bird poops, and "x" is when the bird dies.

This is my 22-month-old's favorite ABC book (except possibly Dr. Seuss). Far more interesting than the usual A-apple, B-ball, C-cat book, which is gathering dust on a bookshelf upstairs, this morning she had my husband read her the book as he was getting ready for work, then ran directly to me, had me read it, and has "read" it to herself at least 3 times in the 30 minute since then. We are on the second round of a month-long library checkout and it is time for me to go ahead and just buy the darn thing. Educationally, I like that it engages her enough to echo the sounds of each letter. It's also possible that this is so interesting to her because her parents read it with enthusiasm and humor, since it is much more interesting for adults than most ABC books. Not for the faint of heart - if you're uncomfortable with potty humor or bodily functions, look elsewhere. We are potty training, so bodily functions take up a significant portion of our day anyways and we talk about them freely. I also noticed that no reviewer has yet commented that the B bird is burping after consuming a mug of some yellow, frothy beverage (cream soda, I presume? :)

this sooooo funny. my boys and i love this book. B is for burp, etc not for the sensitive natured prissys. We think its fun & funny! :-p

This book is hilarious. My students loved it, especially the fart for letter "f". I wish they would make the book larger though.

Whilst this book is certainly not strictly educational, as a parent who has read thousands of books to my children I laughed and laughed. And so did they!

Highly recommended for those with a sense of humour.

Have to say this was 'the funniest book ever!' according to my 4-1/2 yr old daughter. Just read it to her tonight for the 1st time, and the genuine giggles just kept flowing page after page. Silly silly silly book that kept her laughing for an hour until she finally fell asleep. I'm now searching for more books by this author at my daughter's request!
