My 4th graders colored these birds while doing a bird unit. We hung them on our classroom windows and the children love them! Perfect size for each child to have his "own" artwork. I even bought some of the other styles, too!

I ordered this because I was looking for patterns for stained glass. And it is going to do fine in that capacity. This is a small 5 inch by 5 inch book (I thought it was standard sized) with 8 pages to color in it. The names of the birds to be colored the the colors to paint them are included in the back of the book. As usual, you can do that or let your imagination run and color them any way you wish.
I do not see how this book could keep the average child interested more thann 5 minutes. But an adult or older child might take the take to work on the colors. It is kind of an odd little item. If I wasn't using the pages as stained glass templats, I would see not use for it; however, you may. It is the typical Dover stained glass coloring book, but on a very small scale.

The little book is nice. Small pictures. Fun to color and put in the window. I think it would have been better made if the actual birds used for the pages were more colorful in real life. If you want to stick by real life, they're mostly brown. I know, I know, nature is like that. But there ARE brightly colored birds out there, and they could have chosen more of them than just the one cardinal.
