3.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
The pictures often have nothing to do with the positions/descriptions they are near. The layout was more distracting than anything. Descriptions and quantity of positions are pretty good, though.

After spicing up my sex life with the more exotic (anal sex and deep-throating), I was wondering if there might be fun things to do closer to home (as in "intercourse"). As it turns out, quite a bit!

This tome's cute title, "the little bit naughty book of SEX positions" caught my eye -- that and its "50 tastefully explicit color photos." The text turned out to be quite informative. And the photos (even without showing the most intimate contact) were exceptionally clear and helpful.

As background, I remember trying many sexual positions at some point in my life, but I guess it's easy to fall in a rut.

I also remember that when my husband was much younger, like many young men his penis liked to stay close to his body when erect - which greatly limited the number of positions he found comfortable. I'm happy to say that some things get better with age - and a more supple erection is definitely one of them! Needless to say, once this newfound capability came to light -- my husband became quite enthusiastic! (Down boy, down!)

The chapters are arranged very logically: woman on top, man on top, side by side, sitting down, standing, sexplosion (more orgasms), rear entry, anal sex, simultaneous oral sex positions (69's), kama sutra, and a section for advanced lovers only (only the most supple penises need apply).

But the feature which really sets this reference apart - is how each position is laid out (get it?) in detail. How to do it -- What's right with it (pro) -- What's wrong with it (con) -- and Variations on a theme - are the headings.

The "What's right with it" section really goes into detail on the advantages of each position -- for both men and women -- and how it differs from other seemingly similar postures. The "What's wrong with it" portion tells you what you're giving up by using this geometry.

Lastly, the "Variations on a theme" items are simply costume and accessory (handcuffs, toys, etc.) suggestions to use for each position.

As an example of what you'll find, there are probably a half-a-dozen variations on the missionary position - mainly involving different leg positions for the girl (and the guy) -- and their resulting sensual differences for both sexes - which are surprisingly more significant than you might think!

Here are some of our biggest discoveries as a couple:

* That the number of positions now open to him (get it?) has increased tremendously due to his greater flexibility.

* That even if he weren't more flexible, the book contained several new postures his "younger" self would've enjoyed (where the couple's bodies are kept closer together).

* That some positions are more conducive to female pleasure, either in terms of stimulating the clitoris or g-spot, or allowing for masturbation.

* That there are many positions that are often times more easily performed - outside the bed -- such as sitting on the floor, in a chair, or on the kitchen counter! (And "no," I didn't try the "wheelbarrow.")

Some of our favorite new positions included standing with one leg up, sometimes using a staircase (to accommodate different heights); sitting in a chair facing away from him; kneeling on the bed with my knees apart; and sitting on the kitchen counter!

Two of these activities are now possible - since the kids aren't always home! And the other two are enjoyable since they allow me easier access to myself -- for masturbation - which is a pleasure I discovered while learning to give anal sex!

As suggestions for the author - it would've been helpful to also have a few sections on oral sex (for both him and her), and one for deep-throating.

To conclude - you're never too old to learn new positions - especially since they NOW might be easier to perform! Let the "little bit naughty book of SEX positions" - SHOW YOU HOW! Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun & Provocative, February 4, 2007
This review is from: The Little Bit Naughty Book of Sex Positions (Hardcover)
This book is a great little addition to the nightstand or coffee table.

The positions and the pictures are always likely to spark some ideas or
even inspire you to take hardcore action on the spot.

The text that goes along with the pics is well-written and evocative.

Nice.

Do you ever walk through the Supermarket checkout and find you've picked up an impulse buy, some piece of horrid confectionary or something equally valueless just because it was there as you were making the purchases you wanted? That question about sums up how I came to be the owner of this book. It's little more than a little book of pretty little pictures of people simulating sexual intercourse with a text that tries to give itself credibility with casual references to the Kama Sutra etc. No sense of celebration, or the blissed out unity of true spirituality and connection.

If you treat your sexuality like a gymnastic event where you are graded on achieving x position successfully and possibly judged on technique and artistic style and you want a pocket Training Manual, this might be the one. If your heart, your head and your training are in the right places, you and your willing partner will find all the same things as are to be found in here on your own but you will not look bored and disinterested (as those in the photos), you will look like the Universe is sending a rush of Life energy through you with force and you are reaching highs you never knew before, why? Coz that's what will be happening.

I'm sure much must be handled very carefully to produce a product like it seems this book hoped to be. Sadly without the sense of celebration, abandon and togetherness that should be the greater part of what something like this conveys, it might as well be a text and photos about picking each other's noses for mutual pleasure.
Cheers
Lloyd
