The Best Little Book of Chocolate!, December 8, 2008
This review is from: The Little Black Book of Chocolate (Hardcover-spiral)
I am amazed that in all these years nobody has reviewed this book. It's just awesome. It is 159 pages and it is a little book but I've made more recipes from this cookbook than many 10 times larger. And I see you can get it used for a few pennies. Get it!
I originally purchased this to give as a stocking stuffer years ago and wound up keeping it for myself. The Chocolate Sheet Cake I've made many times over and taken to many a Christmas party. That's why I pulled it out again was to make this cake alone.
The Heavenly Single-Layer frosting recipe is to die for. It's made using instant espresso powder and boy is it awesome. The Ganache is bar none the best. The recipe makes enough to frost a large cake. Make it with brandy vs. dark rum. I've done both and it's better with brandy.
The Chocolate cream puffs are delish. The recipe is very easy to make and allows you to use many different filling options. The Chocolate Fondue recipe is simple and great tasting.
This little cookbook is well worth the price, even Amazon's price. It would make a very nice stocking stuffer with a bag of chocolates, or as a gift wrapped with a fondue set. It's just a great little book.
There are no pictures. There's just about a recipe on every page so you're getting well over 100 recipes in this little book. The pages are coated so they'll hold up over time. Definitely a best buy.

This review is from: The Little Black Book of Chocolate (Hardcover-spiral)
I purchased this for my Mother as a Christmas present. My Mom is a self professed "chocoholic" and it can take a bit to impress her when it comes to choclate. My Mother was impressed but this little book. All kinds of new recipes, ideas and thoughts on how, when, where ad how to enjoy chocolate. A whole new take on how to enjoy one of the worlds favorite treats.
