I always research places when I travel and plan so carefully. This book nearly didn't make it into my suitcase. I took it last minute. Next to the Museum Pass that I bought for Parisian museums, this book was perfect. I would place it in my pocketbook and check it for maps, places of interest, restaurants, and what I can see in the area. It divided Paris into the districts so I could see everything that I wanted in each district. While I was on the Left Bank near Museum of Orsay, I went to the Fish restaurant mentioned nearby. It was one of the best restauarants and so reasonable. I had sea bass cooked with spices and eggplant. The size of the book makes it convenient and easy to have. The other travel books just didn't make it. Even Lonely Planet wasn't as helpful. I used Travel Advisor for going to places and making my reservations. We stayed in three different areas of Paris which I would not recommend again. Hotel Sanguine and Hotel D'Orsay were my favorites. Hotel Gramont was excellent but very expensive. The French were so friendly and warm toward us. I am giving this book five starts because of how much I used it. I would still recommend going online and checking out what others have to say about Paris.

First time visitor to Paris. Took this book and the Michelin Red and Green guides. Referred infrequently to the Michelins, constantly, constantly to this. As handy as the "Not for Tourists" guidebooks for NYC, etc. Like those (and unlike the Michelins) it fit nicely in my jacket pocket. Even the restaurant reviews were reliable. Not exhaustive, but IMHO essential. I probably won't take the Michelins next time, but I surely will bring this. Highest possible recommendation.

I've been a tourist in Paris many times - this is by far the best tourist book ever for getting around the city of lights! Very well organized, great info and maps.

This book is extremely helpful and handy in pre-trip planning as well as during your trip. I highly recommend this series of travel books, i own 6 of them and give them away as gift and people really love receiving the little black book.

This 'Little Black Book of Paris 2012 Edition' is a practical book in terms of information provided and the pocket size of its presentation. The information is also concise in presentation and would appeal to travelers who are looking for a variety of ideas to explore from popular sites to eating places to shopping to accommodation. I will be taking the book with me to Paris next month.

I just returned from Paris yesterday. I found this book very useful for 1 important reason, the maps! I put a tab on each section for quick reference and when in each area was able to access a detailed map right away.Come out of the Metro, open the book and found where I was right away.I had purchased several other travel books on Paris, but this was the one I carried.

You will feel more self assured when you visit Paris if you have this Little Black Book with you, with all its maps. Become a Parisian (American style) and enjoy the city of Paris. I hope to go back in a year or two, rent an apartment, and immerse myself in Parisian life. This book will definitely go with me.

This is a great little guide well put together and well done. It also has a map of the metro ...ok pretty small print but if your eyes are still good you can read a metro map right from this book.

My son and daughter-in-law, who recently lived in Paris, found this book to be their next best guide on return trips to the City of Lights.

This book was very helpful and the maps were extremely useful in navigating Paris. I would highly recommend purchasing this guide and studying the same before your trip. A girlfriend used the guide on her trip to Paris and recommended the same to me. This was advice well taken!
