5.0 out of 5 stars high value for the geriatric nurse
this little pocket-sized book contains concise information that assists in defining geriatric conditions and describing the most likely course of disease and treatment. it is helpful both in assisting the clinical practitioner to differentiate among possible causes of observed symptoms and in providing guidelines for wellness services to elders.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not helpful
The important information is wedged between oodles of footnotes & reference notations making its usefulness difficult, especially for a quick reference guide.
I returned the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy go-to information, November 16, 2010

of course it wont have everything, and misses a lot of the general trends that can only be learned over time from a 'fat man', but contains a lot of the principles and standards of care that are accepted by medicine today. Its definately a good go-to for reference purposes for the general geriatric population and will keep just about any physician's head above water 99% of the time, which is really more than one can ask out of a single book for such a complicated population.
