My nine year old niece just asked me for the next book in the series for Christmas, but I see no mention of it on Amazon and am very disappointed. I love all three of the Little Bo books, and I'm 49! I couldn't possibly pick a favorite, and I would give each one 5 stars. They are well-written, fun, heart-warming, and suspenseful, and I hope the next one will be out soon! The illustrations are just as charming as the stories!

In 1999, Julie Andrews (Edwards) published "Little Bo"Little Bo. It is the story of a young cat who comes to live with a sailor on a boat. Little Bo is a sweet cat, and she always manages to have adventures -- often running into her brothers and sisters along the way. She followed it up shortly after in 2002 with "Little Bo in France" Little Bo in France (Little Bo, 2). Years passed, and I hoped that there would be another chapter in the Little Bo saga. I had about given up hope, and then October 2010 saw the release of "Little Bo in Italy" -- this time with Andrews teaming with her frequent collaborator and daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton. This time out Bo's adventures take her through Italy where she sees landmarks, relatives, and meets new friends too. The authors do a great job of keeping the heart of the original books, and Henry Cole's illustrations are always beautiful. I have heard that there is a fourth and final installment in the Little Bo series, but publication date has not been set. Let's hope we don't have to wait another eight years for it! Seeing as how these books are set in several different locations, they can provide some geography lessons for kids. Curious kids will definitely want to know where Bo's location is compared with their's. If you are going to read the books with your kids, and you don't have a globe, get one! Your child will love tracking Bo across the globe as you read her adventures. Julie Andrews' collection of books always create a sense of wonder, and her Little Bo series is no exception. This book is charming and heart-warming, and it is enjoyable for kids and adults alike.

We have been waiting for more on Billy and Little Bo. My daughter was barely 2 when we discovered Little Bo. That was one of her favorite stories that we read over and over. I was thoroughly charmed by that story. Then when Little Bo in France came out, she was in kindergarten. We read that one over and over too. But we longed for a third. We wanted to know what happened to the rest of Little Bo's siblings. My daughter is almost 14, but I am getting this book to put under the Christmas tree for her. She will be delighted to unwrap this present. When she is finished loving it, I'll pack it safely away with the rest of her other books she's out grown and keep for her until she's got little ones of her own to read to.

Initially, the fact that Julie Andrews wrote the books attracted me. I have long enjoyed her acting. Now, I find I enjoy her writings for children as well. The illustrations are beautiful too.

This is a book that I will most likely read many times. It is well written, and the illustrations are marvelous. It is a book easily read to children, and it will be my gift of reading to my grandchildren. Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton have done a great job on the writing as well as the story line. I highly recommend it for anyone with children or grandchildren. Even I enjoy reading Julie's books, and I am a grandmum.
