Opal Dunn is the author of Hippety Hop, Hippety Hay. An expert in early childhood language development, she lives in London, England. Bettina Paterson studied illustration at St. Martin's School of Art. She has illustrated more than twenty children's books. She lives with her husband and son in Barnes, England.

This book, along with the author's train, car and plane books, are definitely among the cutest kids' books I've seen. The vehicle is attached by a ribbon and can be moved along each page to track with the story. The text is great and the illustrations are very cheerful. We have used these with all 5 of our kids, and they are always a big hit. Bettina Paterson is one of the best illustrators! Highly recommended!

This is my 10-month-old son's favorite book. He has just started bringing things to me, when he wants to play with them with me, and he brings this book over and over and over (his second favorite is good night gorilla). I'm not sure why he loves this book. But, I'm buying a second copy because he has worn this one out.

The bright and interesting pictures make this one of my 19 month old sons favorite books for us to read together. He enjoys making the boat "float" across the water. We read this book, as well as the car and the plane book several times a day!
