About the Author

Herbert S. Demmin received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1986. He has worked as a Staff Clinical Psychologist for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Livermore, California, and Brookside Hospital in New Hampshire. He presently has a private group practice in Nashua, NH. He is the co-author of the "Psychodynamic Psychotherapy" section of an Introduction to Clinical Psychology text book. He is also having a life-work published in 2003, titles The Ghosts of Consciousness: Understanding Thought and the Illusory Self on the Spiritual Path. Dr. Demmin is an expert on the treatment of low self-esteem and on the nature of thinking. He and his loving daughter, Veronica, currently live in Nashua, NH.
