This book is just great. It has all the old classic fairy tales, lots of activities to do with you child, for instance how to make play dough, bubbles, paper dolls and many more. Great poetry and nursery rhymes. Very simple songs that all children should learn. It also has finger games and recipes for simple things. It is a great book that all mothers of young children should have!

I got this book for a new mom and she **loved** it. It was the hit of Christmas. It's full of wonderful illustrations, stories, poems, recipes, and songs.

This is one of those books that is a classic great gift. This book is just crammed with great stuff, and would take weeks for a mom to go through and pick out her favorites. I can't believe the amount of care and love that they editors put in gathering the contents and putting them together. I wish they would put out a "Little Big Book for Young Women Finding Their Way" so I could have one, too!

I've given "The Little Big Book" as gifts before, and everyone raves about them. If you are looking for a really special gift, or want to treat yourself to something that you will pass on to your children, this little book is the way to go.

I received this book from my husband for my first mother's day and I love it! I was looking for a bedtime storybook that had all the favorites in it and this is definately the one! It has all the most loved songs, stories and rhymes. The recipes, poems and games are an added bonus! I recommend this book to all the new moms...and dads!

What a wonderful book! This book reminds me of my childhood - the songs, stories and games are classics that every child should know. This makes a great gift for a new mother!

I was given this book as a shower gift and didn't pay much attention to it right away. As a new mom I was laughing with my mother one day that I was so out of touch with children's nursery rhymes and songs. The only song I could remember when singing my son to sleep was 'Frosty the Snowman'! : ) Mom then reminded me that I had this book and once I opened it I realized what a treasure I had.

This book is packed with wonderful poems, ALL the great stories from 'Snow White' to 'Jack and the Beanstalk' plus tons of ideas for crafts and recipes. It has everything in one small package. I plan on giving it as a shower gift to all of my pregnant girlfriends and have purchased all of the other books that the author has written. Many of them are holiday focused (Christmas & Halloween for example). I wish she would add to the series with at least two more about Easter and Thanksgiving and I think it would be complete! This is a must have for all new or seasoned parents!

I received this book at my baby shower and it was my favorite gift by far. It is filled with all the classic bedtime tales, nursery ryhmes, games (e.g. "Where is Thumbkin," "The Insy-Weensy Spider"), and even fun simple recipes for when they're older. The 1940's illustrations are beautiful! This book is an all around gem!

Babies love to hear mom's voice even if they don't yet know what your saying. I read from it almost daily and lil' Sadie's only two months old. It works like a charm and puts her to sleep everytime. This book will be in our library for a very long time.

This book is a must-have for any and all mothers. This is the only book you'll ever need to entertain your children or grandchildren for hours upon end.

This is one of the best children's books I have ever read! I agree with the other reviewers that every parent should have a copy. This book makes a wonderful gift for first, second and third time parents since the whole family can enjoy the classic stories, songs, games, recipies, poetry and crafts! I have sent out four copies as gifts so far and have heard only high praises from all receivers.

As a first-time mom, my husband bought me this book for my birthday! I absolutely love it!! The illustrations are beautiful and the variety of poems, stories & recipes are great. I'm glad the lyrics & hand motions to a lot of children's songs are included since I forgot most of them. It brought back memories of the songs I used to sing as a kid. I highly recommend this book.

I stumbled on this book which I bought for myself and have given it as a gift for Mother's Day ever since. It is a beautiful book filled with stories, poems, songs, finger plays and recipes. My children (2 and 4) love to hear the classic stories, sing and do finger plays. The recipe for edible play dough is wonderful and my children clammor to make it every week! A wonderful reference and a real charmer.
