About the Author

Karen Colby Weiner, J.D., Ph.D., is an experienced psychologist, attorney, educator and ethicist, who currently is focusing her energy on personal and business coaching. She is the Vice-Chair of the Michigan Board of Psychology, and has served as the President of both the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and the Michigan Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology. During her tenure as an attorney, she was a Law Clerk for the Michigan Supreme Court, and a banking and real estate attorney with one of the oldest and largest law firms in Michigan. She also served as a Hearing Referee for the Michigan Civil Rights Commission and as a Hearing Panelist of the Attorney Discipline Board. As a psychologist, she maintains an active clinical practice. For many years Dr. Weiner chaired the Ethics Committee of the Michigan Psychological Association, was an Adjunct Professor teaching ethics to graduate students in psychology, and currently serves on the International Coach Federation Ethics and Standards Committee. Dr. Weiner has published extensively in Law Reviews and Journals, as well as in psychological publications. She is a graduate of The Institute for Life Coach Training, for which she teaches a class on ethics. Her accomplishments in a variety of areas have led to her inclusion in "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the World."
