Page after page of stiff smiling children, angels, pets and dolls make this book of familiar prayers suitable for only the most devout. The blessings prayed for in the text are reassuringto be secure from fear, safe from illness or pain or darkness, to help others who are alone, to show gratitude for a pet. And the words, repeated aloud, would soothe even non-believers. But the static quality of the pictures (somewhere between greeting cards and coloring books) render this less effective than other prayer books on the market. Ages 4-8.
