Little Britain USA is a different kind of program from the usual Little Britain. When I was first introduced to the show, I was a little confused--"it seems like it is just the same two guys doing the same bunch of characters and...oh, I see now! Different skits and stories!" Once I was into the second episode of Little Britain's Season (series) One and began to 'get it' finally, I went back, watched episode one and then was hooked thereafter. The characters are always hilarious, and David Walliams and Matt Lucas never cease to amaze me with their creations, writing, and comedic talents. All that to say: Be sure to introduce yourself to the actual British version as well.

Now, in Little Britain USA there was one thing in the commentary that was said that I acknowledged watching the series: They wrote the series and re-wrote some of the characters to make it more "fitting" for a USA audience. That was not necessary at all. I loved the new "American" characters they've created, but was ever so happy to see Lou and Andy, Sebastian, Vickie Pollard, and Daffyd Thomas. My suggestion in the future is to write the show their way and NOT try to Americanize it. Lucas and Walliams are geniuses and need to just stick with doing it their way.

There are a few running storylines throughout the 6 episodes (I assume the series was cut short to 6 episodes as in Season Two the costumes took up a lot of budget). We're reintroduced to "Bitty" as a family with an overprotected infantile son visit their American Cousins, two HILL-arious bank robbers, and even funnier body builders. I love grandma and the grandson on the front porch having discussions. There are one-off jokes like the cop and his gun collection and hunters who go after "big" game.

After three UK series of this character comedy sketch show, plus a two part "overseas" special, this is the first series of the show set in the USA.

It is a mix of established characters, Americanised versions of UK characters, and entirely new characters. It continues to be very funny and very rude!

New hits are an ex astronaut living on his faded reputation, a foul mouthed schoolgirl and two over macho bodybuilders.

This is a another great funny+edgy comedy season, getting a rejuvenating boost from the addition of new characters to the mix. As usual, six episodes are never enough - but then again, we don't want them to water it down just to have more episodes. I just hope there will be more Little Britain one way or another!

Almost all of the UK characters had a great "translation" to the HBO version, except for perhaps Sebastian who, in my opinion, did not quite click as Prime Minister. Most of the new US characters were funny, including the living-in-the-past astronaut, the hunters, and the Southern grand-ma. The Starbucks-within-a-Starbucks was very poignant.

Being on HBO was great for Little Britain USA as it allowed Matt and David to push the comedy envelope without fear of interference from jumpy executives on cable and network TV.

For new viewers, I recommend starting from the first UK season and watching them in sequence, so you can get a better feel of the characters.

I am a Brit in America, so I think I see both cultures pretty well. I love Little Britain - It is shocking but very very clever, it brutally, but intelligently breaks down all the British stereotypes. Not so this series - they forgot to be clever - all that's left is the crudity.

Little Britain, is, well - British. As a British sketch show it was extremely funny. Copying half of the material over with a pseudo-American spin and generating some embarrassing new material based on a shallow misunderstanding of what's really funny America just doesn't work. If you enjoy British television, just enjoy the original and let this one go.

Insert this DVD into the player and sit back for a good evening of entertainment. Always funny, occasionally rude, crude and uncouth these characters are belly laughs and hysterical giggles. Don't miss this one but put the kids to bed first.

Not funny. Although this came highly recommended by some British friends (both the US version and the British one) it all gets lost in translation.

I watched one and a half episodes and it may have had a couple of funny lines
