This movie misses the mark on several points.

Niko's mother is apparently adept at finding ways to become pregnant without being in a committed relationship.

Now that the family is bigger, i'm looking forward for the next installation. But the beginning was a little dull, and plot was okay.

I discovered "The Flight Before Christmas" (aka "Niko and the Way to the Stars") last year, and it became a new favorite Christmas movie very quickly. So when I saw that a sequel was made, I just had to send for it. First of all, thank God they didn't decide to make it a "Niko decides to live with the herd and gives up flying" story, beacuse that would have been really disappointing! No, in fact, it opens with Niko visiting his father, Prancer, and Santa's Flying Forces, during one of their test flights, and he's flying right alongside them, so that was a great beginning! However, the story isn't quite as good as the first movie, but I expected that, since it is a sequel, and sequels are seldom as good as the first movie. What I really didn't like was how bitter Niko's mother is towards his father, Prancer. Seeing that Niko does have the gift of flight, you'd think she'd be more supportive of his visiting with his father to hone his flying skills. I also didn't think much of Leni, the new male reindeer that Niko's mother is now dating. I think she could have done a lot better! But I digress, Niko's new little step brother, Johnnie, is cute and adds a new dimension to the story, as does the old reindeer, Tobias, who shows up later in the story. The eagles are not quite as formidable villains as the wolves in the first movie, but they have their moments. The voice actors are mostly different from the first movie, as well, and Wilma, the singing weasel (whose voice is really different here), doesn't sing in this movie at all (which makes no sense, since she says she left her family to be a singer in the first movie). But it is cool to see Niko flying around, especially when he's coming to the rescue. All in all, it's still a decent movie, overall, and if you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one. But as is the case with most sequels, don't have too high expectations. Being that it's primarily aimed at kids, I'm sure that kids will love it!

Excellent movie for children and adults. Wonderful Christmas movie, really good when kids are out of school because of snow.
