Sweet, but hard to follow,
By
This review is from: Little Bunny's Pacifier Plan (Concept Books (Albert Whitman)) (Paperback)
I purchased this book because not only had we just visited the dentist and he suggested we get rid of the pacifier, but also we have a friend who just recently had a baby and we had the idea of trying to convince our little guy to give his pacifier to t e newborn! So this book seemed like a perfect fit! The only problem is that the steps for giving up the pacifier are pretty vague, and hard to follow. When I read this book to him I find that I add in a lot more details than the author provided. If you don't mind doing that, then this would be a good buy for you. Overall it is a sweet story that my son can relate to at this point in his life.

It worked in 4 days!,
This review is from: Little Bunny's Pacifier Plan (Concept Books (Albert Whitman)) (Hardcover)
We never thought that our very strong willed daughter, who adored her paci, would give it up without a fight. Four days after we rec'd this book in the mail, she was ready to give her pacifiers to a neighbor's baby. That was it. No struggle, no fight. I give this book my highest recommendation!!!

My almost three year old loved his pacifier. He only used it at night, but it was still hard to convince him to give it up completely. We read this book night after night for weeks and finally one day he was ready. It was a easy transition, but it was made easier by the book.

Our daughter is turning three next month and we have tried to leverage all sorts of plans and bribes to get the pacifier away from her. Everything we came up with would be welcomed at first but ultimately questioned by her two year old's logic. This book has provided a unique/safe way to help demonstrate how others can phase out the pacifier over a period of time. She identifies with LB in the book and has actually suggested we send her "dee-dee" to a friend's newborn. I would highly recommend it for those at the same stage but wonder if it would have been as effective any earlier in the process.

My daughter is 23 months and I was looking for a book that might encourage her to kick the pacifier habit on her own. I'm in no rush, I just wanted to get a head start. After reading all the positive reviews on here I picked this book.
Unfortunately, it is very wordy - way too many words on the page for my almost 2 year old's attention span. Since it is so long, we never make it to the back of the book - so she thinks its a book about how fun pacifiers are. In fact, since my daughter only uses her binky at nap and beditme, little bunny gets to use his in all kinds of fun places she has never been allowed to before, so I think she asks for it even more since we got this book. Little bunny is clearly more like 4 or 5 and the book is geared toward that age level as well. So it was not at all what we were looking for.

With colorfully charming, full color illustrations,

This review is from: Little Bunny's Pacifier Plan (Concept Books (Albert Whitman)) (Paperback)
Little Bunny learned to crawl, walk, dance, and even talk with his pacifier in his mouth. Little Bunny loves his pacifier, but when he visits the dentist, Dr. Hopper explains that it is time to put it away. Little Bunny wants to be a big bunny, but can he give up his favorite thing? Kathy Parkinson's colorfully charming, full color illustrations wonderfully enhance Maribeth Boelts' entertaining story for very young readers about the need to eventually outgrow comfortable and comforting habits like the use of pacifiers, security blankets, or nightlights.
