This review is from: Little Earthquakes (Audio Cassette)
This is a review on the audio book version.
This story, about four women who all live in the same city. All of them, of course, have different back rounds and circumstances. It follows them through marriages, and being pregnant, births, jobs, parents and everything else. They become friends, bond like women do, and go through obstacles galore. Jennifer Weiners books are pretty much predictable chick lit, and this one is no different. There aren't any real surprises, or twists, or a new take on emotional states, just the familiar banter between broads and the lives they live. Her characters seem to be ripped directly from a lifetime movie of the week, and the ending to this one had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head at its sappy "everyone is okay" theme. It worked for back round noise at work, I didn't have to latch on for details, and I didn't get lost in its words, it's a simple quick story, over with before you know it, and forgettable after a day. It wont change your life.
