SmoothJazz.com Review,
By Sandy Shore (Monterey, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Little Elbowroom (Audio CD)
If you're looking for some fresh, tasty jazz guitar work right out of the Wes Montgomery/George Benson school, then I've got just the album for you, my friend. Detroit's Dee Brown (the "Brown" half of the original duo Shelby Brown) knocks it out of the park on his sophomore solo release, A LITTLE ELBOWROOM. From the current single, "True Reality," (featuring Darren Rahn and Nate Harasim) right through to what might be THE wedding song for this year, "Just Say I Do," Mr. Brown's playing on this project is spot-on in every respect, and there are, without exaggeration, a dozen radio friendly tracks on this CD... that's 12 out of 12. Dee Brown dedicates A LITTLE ELBOWROOM to his late father, George E. "Sonny" Brown, and you can both hear and feel the love and passion in every track. This is a quality album from a rapidly rising star! ~SCOTT O'BRIEN

I never heard of Dee Brown ... I know him now! I like this CD, I am always apprehensive when purchasing a CD/artist I have not taken a listen too. On a gamble I purchased the CD for several reasons... 1. I like Jazz guitar and... 2. I wanted to sample something new, fresh and clean. I was NOT disappointed; if you, like me enjoy smoothjazz guitar, please do yourself a favor and enjoy Dee Brown's "A Little Elbowroom" I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
