2.0 out of 5 stars Oh no -------- its mostly interviews!
I hate to give a bad review to this wonderful band, but somebody dropped the ball on this one. Why oh why do producers think we really want to hear interviews from long term fans instead of the music? Not to disrespect anyone or their opinion, but I really want to hear a concert, not see it in the background while a fan says how much Little Feat means to them. This is...

This is okay for bonus material, but as the main feature, no way. What I thought I was getting here was a full blown concert from the Feat's annual Jamaican gathering, instead I get a bunch of people talking about it. The only (small) saving grace is there are six full performances on the "bonus" disc, but........ you have to click on each song to play it as the last one ends. There is no way of getting a concert like experience doing it this way.

Disc 1 is called the "Feature disc". It is way more like any other music DVD's bonus disc, that is you watch it once for interest then your done with it. Disc 2 has the performances, but there is no continuity. What you really have here is 2 bonus disks, but no main concert disk.

And to top it off, the only thing really worth watching any way is the 6 songs, BUT....... there is no 5.1 option. Its from 2005 people, no excuse for lame sound, but the LPCM stereo is distant on the vocals and guitars and overly heavy on bass. AND----- its not filmed very well, not terrible, but could have been a lot better. I'm very disappointed in this release, but if you don't have any modern (post Lowell George) Little Feat, skip this one and get the Live in St. Louis Feat DVD, now that is doing it right.

1.0 out of 5 stars Feat should be embarrassed, September 23, 2006

I just bought this package used for $5. Even at that price, it's a very marginal value, and I have no trouble understanding why the original purchaser wanted to dump it.

In contradiction to Amazon's listing, my copy has two discs... but that doesn't help much. What little music is on the first disc is interrupted by the most fatuous interviews ever to disgrace a great band. The second disc has still more interviews, but also includes "Full Performances" of six songs. These do show some fine playing at last, and might actually be worthwhile... IF they were properly mastered. Instead, you get bizarre keyhole video and, unbelievably, MONO sound. (I see another reviewer refers to it as weak stereo, but I think that's a placebo effect; personally I can't hear any channel separation at all.)

The whole thing comes off like some cheap bootleg, except that bootleggers these days tend to go to more trouble. I don't know who talked Feat into releasing this miserable production, but I can only hope the band is well and truly embarrassed they allowed it happen.

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't want to watch interviews, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Little Feat & Friends in Jamaica: Burgers & Paradise (DVD)
This is a sad release. This is how NOT to make a Little Feat DVD. Please just release the Austin City Limits performance instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars a souvenir for Jamaica excusion?, June 17, 2006
This review is from: Little Feat & Friends in Jamaica: Burgers & Paradise (DVD)
If this were a souvenir for their Jamaica excusion or a free extra DVD set for their brand-new CD, you might be pleased to have. But.....
You'll watch a partial live concert includes only six tunes; Day At The Dog Races, Representing The Mambo, Pretty Good Love, Do What You Want, Cajun Girl and Dixie Chicken on this stuff. And luke-warm interviews.....oops. I've been a big fan of Little Feat and can say this will be a stain upon their career. I'm so sad.
