"Among the greatest of Christian mystics and saints, Francis of Assisi has been venerated for generations by those seeking to attain the transcendence over worldly strife that he achieved through acts of humility, kindness, and spiritual devotion. Written in the fifteenth century, The Little Flowers is a collection of stories chronicling the journeys, activities, and miracles of Saint Francis and his brethren. It is among the world's most popular and most read of the religious classics. Unabridged republication of the Thomas Okey translation."

A delightful and soul-satisfying read,

This is a lovely book that describes in detail the life and passion of Saint Francis. It is interesting to see how Francis gave up a life of wealth and comfort---of wine , women and song, to search out life's deeper meaning. It is told in great detail and is an uplifting and sweet book. It also describes the path of Claire of Assisi, Saint Claire, and the other monks of Saint Francis' order. A delightful and soul-satisfying read. This is an incredible bargain at $4.99.

It is 'The Little Flowers'. If you haven't read it you're in for a treat. The details of St. Francis, his early followers and the world they lived in is magical. The stories about Fr. Juniper are sui generis- holy and hilarious. A nice translation and the price of Dover thrift books cannot be beaten. Highly recommended for Christians of all persuasions and for anyone with eclectic reading interests.

Wow, this is an OLD classic but it really made me think and expand my thinking. I really love it but it's NOT for everyone.

Why I say okay is because the language is very ancient... Not simple English. And also its very fine print. Strains the eyes... None of these are related to the seller though... Its just that I expected simple English.

Wonderful stories about St Francis of Assist. You will feel like you know St. Francis after reading this little book. It goes too fast, so read it slowly and treasure it and then pass it on to help someone else.
