This is a sturdy well made ladder that offers a very convenient adjustment range to work at the optimum height in my apartment (ceilings as high as 11 feet). Also, the tripod support system allows ladder to fit into tight corners and work close to walls. Amazon delivery was very quick; I got the ladder three days after ordering it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Step Right Up to the Next Level, March 24, 2009

A well built gadget ladder that works in a variety of situations like unlevel surfaces or stairwells. It is the best ladder I've ever owned. Here's a couple of bits of information that might be helpful: 1. When fully extended, the highest rung/step rated safe to stand on is 69 inches above the level ground surface. It is the second rung from the top. So, this 8-foot ladder offers a maximum safe standing height of 5 feet 9 inches. 2. The next step up - or the first rung from the top - is labled with "Danger" and "Warning" stickers. "This is not a step." Well, it is built just like the other rungs and is solid. Therefore, it is a step, if you have uncanny balance and want it to be a step. It is 80 inches above level surface, but I wouldn't want to stand on it without something sturdy to hold on to. Another thing that makes life easier with this ladder is a good quality silicone spray like CRC Heavy Duty or NAPA. Don't use the foaming junk! Silicone does not collect dirt and dust like WD40. It is a clean lubricant. Spray the sliding boom, latches and hooks as well as the slide locks on top. After playing with the ladder right out of the box for a few minutes, I sprayed it with silicone. What a difference. It adjusts and glides into position smoothly. 34 pounds is not an issue. Move on up to the next level, which, for a change, is one you can actually see and touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars The sturdiest and best stepladder I've ever used., March 15, 2010

This is an excellent handyman's tool. The only issue is that it's a bit heavy, but any fiberglass eight foot ladder will be. It works great on solid level surfaces, of course, and is much more rigid than most stepladders. The real benefit comes up when used, (probably against recommendations) on a steep slope. You can have the support leg at a different height than the step side. If you're painting a house on a hillside or working under a deck you'll appreciate that ability.

I've also used mine orchard ladder style while working on my apple trees. It's nearly as stable as a three legged orchard ladder and if used carefully is perfectly safe for that application. Once again, the manufacturer probably wouldn't recommend that but it's worked fine for me.

One very minor complaint is the locking mechanism that prevents the ladder from folding up on you while in use. There is a large button on either side of the top (not a step-heh heh). If the legs are fully extended you can't reach the buttons to fold up the ladder for moving it. You have to close up the legs first so you can manage the buttons. On the plus side, this system absolutely prevents the ladder from accidentally closing up on you when you are up in the air.

This is positively the safest ladder I've used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best step ladder...EVER!, November 24, 2008

This step ladder is built! I would have to say that versatility and quality are very apparent. Both my wife and I feel safe using this item, and are most pleased to have it available for us. It is heavy, and it takes the both of us to remove it from its hooks, but then we simply "walk" the ladder where it is needed. We have been using it for the past year and do not wish to be without it!

I have had this ladder for over 5 years along with over 5 other WING Little Giant Ladders and it is the most used of all my ladders. It is used as a commercial ladder for AV and Electrical Installations and has been a workhorse-It is very easy to use and stable and holds me( 250 pounds plus)very safely- It adjusts to help you be near the wall on putting up wall TV's, Plasmas, and wiring in the ceiling-

I sometimes feel like it is slipping if used on a smooth floor but this is just the top hinge adjusting a little.

I lost a pin that holds one of the stablilizer bars but other than that it has been the best ladder ever and I get comments all the time from other Trades about where to get one- A little heavy? Sure, but it's Fiberglass and non-conductive and will be allowed on all commercial jobs where aluminum ladders are not--

A real plus is it retracts up to a small size for storage and transport and will be functional as a 4',5',6',7' and 8' ladder without the hassle of where to fit it-

Can't go wrong
