I received what looked to be like a used unit at first (inside was pretty rusty) so I called buyplumbing and they quickly exchanged it for a new one. The manufacturer packaging that comes with the pump is very inadequate as this is a very heavy pump (probably 40-50lbs). The pump works fine, it is strong and a lot more quiet than my last little giant pump. My last one didn't have the ability to pump larger solids so this one was great. I also think at this price it is a steal since it is pretty much the same as the same pumps that are 3-4x the price. I use this to pump ground water from a french drain sump pit. The pump is quite tall and the pressure switch doesn't always activate at the same water height so sometimes it won't trigger when the water is at the water table level (which is annoying). Since the pressure switch is a separate unit itself, you will find that using both will require two wires coming out of the pit. The pressure switch plug is a piggy back type, and you can connect the pump at the plug.

I purchased this as a water injection pump with limited use about a year ago. I bought this larger pump because I was having to replace the smaller pastic pumps after 3 or 4 years. It quit working after a little less than a year. By the time I noticed it and contacted Buy Plumbing and the manufacturer it was just over 1 year. A lot of excuses and passing the buck and I am left buying a new pump from somewhere else.
