Editorial Reviews

From the 1997 classic UK speed garage stormer ‘Rip Groove’ as 1/2 of Double 99, to the seamless ‘Sirens’/’We All Love Sax’, and his Latin Inspired, house monster: ‘It Just Won’t Do’ – Londoner Tim Deluxe’s productions have been renowned for quality, diversity and above all, making people move.

Since then he mixed Underwater’s first ever album release alongside Darren Emerson, a compilation entitled Underwater: Episode One as well as adding his flavour to remixes for Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, Lo-Fidelity Allstars’ ‘Sleeping Faster’, Layo & Bushwacka’s ‘Love Story’, and most recently Basement Jaxx’s ‘ Do Your Thing’.

His debut artist album The Little Ginger Club Kid perfectly showcases the ‘Tim Deluxe sound’ - chunky, funky party-fueled house with a tech-tainted edge. The album features performances from guest vocalists Terra Deva (Shakedown ‘At Night’), Sam Obernik, Ben Onono, Bugsy and Shahin Badar (vox from Prodigy’s ‘Smack My Bitch Up’). Above all uplifting and full of energy; with big baselines and an attitude like no other.

hearing "it just wont do" on my local public radio caused me to go ahead and purchased this cd that week without knowing much else Deluxe played. upon hearing, the first song was great, very catchy, the next few are alright leading to track 5 the rest of the cd has some great vibes and sounds. the last song is a 10 minute journey into some hard driving beats that properly concludes any good tech cd.

there are definetelly a few songs that any collector of electronic music would love to add to their collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tim Deluxe - The Little Ginger Club Kid, February 24, 2011
This review is from: Little Ginger Club Kid (Audio CD)
Tim Deluxe's debut, THE LITTLE GINGER CLUB KID, has house tracks cleverly disguised as pop songs. Catchy and smile-inducing, tracks like "Heavy Weather" and "Less Talk More Action!" have a pop sensibility backed with that kick drum to get you moving, augmented in no small part by Terra Deva's powerful and sexy vocals. There's quite a bit of funk and silliness on "2kool 4skool" and "Little White Ship," though the former doesn't show a lot of variation. The stronger tracks are definitely the vocal ones, since they have more focus and don't grow stale as easily: "It Just Won't Do" is a Latin-tinged little hustle with a lascivious thrust, while "Battle" is a little less earthy and a little more dreamy. "Mundaya (The Boy)" merges South Asian vocals with a house rhythm, with toe-tapping Bollywood-approved results. There's also the dancing in outer-space track, "Choose Something Like a Star," which drifts out into the void on a filtered vocal and a spoken-word sample from what sounds like a New Age tape. The first half of the album is the stronger, but the fun last throughout.

I mainly purchased this album for the song IT JUST WONT DO , so I played the entire album and I was very exited once I realized that all the songs are very cluby even great for get togethers or go running. I can research the band and talk about the producers and blah blah blah , but if what you want is to read about simple comments here is mine GREAT MUSIC BY TIM DELUXE just buy it.
