This collection is fairly extensive, with several books, all of which are pretty long compared to stories in other collections. What my toddler loves most are the illustrations, especially the early 1950s style of "Baby Dear."

Each story is presented as a separate book, making for easy breaks in reading. The only complaint I have about the collection is that it is almost too heavy for young children to carry around and read on their own. Unfortunately some of these books are not available on their own and if you want a copy, this is a nice way to have one.

This book and the other collections (farm tales, animal tales) are very well done! They are much more enjoyable to read than the "treasury" collections of little golden books which condense the stories, leaving out parts and omitting many of the illustrations. In these books the stories are complete, the pages are glossy, and the illustrations are bright and colorful. My children are able to enjoy reading the old Golden Books that are no longer available individually. We especially love the illustrations by Eloise Wilkin!

These are the stories that my Mom read to me as a little girl and I can't wait to read them to my children as well. The books are very nice and sturdy, great for years of cuddles with your children. The illustrations are just like the originals but bigger than the small golden books. Your kids will love them!

I bought this for my daughter and this is a real steal. You get twelve stories from the Little Golden Book collection. The best ones are the oldie but goodies like "I Can Fly", "The Color Kittens" and "The Wonderful House". The newer stories have hideous artwork with no charm whatsoever... its worth it for the classic stories as the pages are big and colorful, nothing is omitted and the paper is a heavy keepsake type. Not thin/flimsy at all. Highly recommended.

My grandautghter caries this book wherever she goes. She talks about which story she will get to hear toinght. I love the old golden books

I originally expected this collection to come just a series of regular golden books, but i was pleasantly surprised to find it as a single higher quality book with golden edged glossy pages. Due to the paper, all the images look brighter and fresher too.

My daughter loves this book, and her current favourites are The Color Kittens and Good Night Little Bear. Highly recommended!

I bought this book and Animal Tales for my second cousin for her first Christmas. Both books are beautiful! They have sturdy binding and look much more expensive than what I paid. I highly recommend the book. Plus, it's full of classic tales that my cousin and I read more than 20 years ago when we were kids. Now we can share these stories with another generation!

The book holds up very well, the binding is high quality (unlike the single-story Little Golden Books). Pages are glossy and also better quality than the pages in the normal books.

A tremendous value at $8-9 for 12 stories as opposed to $4 for each Little Golden Book.

Simple stories, simple lessons. My daughter loves to read and re-read this book.

This book has been great to read to my 3 year old. It has a lot of the favorites from when I was a child and is easy for my child to pick stories from. It helps to have all the stories in one book. Some of the stories that are in the book, I have never read before and have never even heard before. It would have been nice to have more of the stories I already knew, but it is an excellent book.

The children love these books! They sit and look at pictures and are always asking for stories to be read to them from these books. They love Golden Books!
