Dr. O. C. Makes Spiritual Principles Practical,
By
This review is from: Little Green Apples: God Really Did Make Them! (Paperback)
Dr. O. C. Smith, following the method in which the Greats have taught Truth Principles, gives the reader a practical book that can change the way in which they see themselves in the world they live in. Dr. O. C.'s consuming interest in teaching metaphysical principles to help people find their own solutions and solve their own problems is clearly evident in this book. A student of Dr. Joseph Murphy, Dr. Frank Richelieu and other Masters of Metaphysics, Dr. O. C. clearly has taken their teachings and expanded on the wisdom that he received from them. A Minister of Religious Science, Dr. O. C. takes the reader to a level beyond traditional Christian theology and truly connects the reader with the Power and the Presence of God that In-Dwells them! This book is from a consciousness of accomplishment and achievement and Dr. O. C. freely shares his great wisdom with the reader ... Dr. O. C. knew the Truth and demonstrated It abundantly!

Little Green Apples is a spiritual self-help guide for Christians, written by O.C. Smith (the man who made the Grammy-winning song "Little Green Apples") with the assistance of James Show. Deep wisdom and encouragement of the virtues of a Christian faith fill the pages of this warm-hearted guide of strength and conviction. Little Green Apples is commended to the personal reading lists of those members of the Christian community with an interest in experiencing joy, love, wisdom and happiness within a Christian context.

I'm a member of the City of Angels Church and I think this book is true reflection of the life Dr. O.C. Smith lived and taught others to live by. This book is so powerful that if you read just a few chapters you can feel the awesome truth of the messages that he gave to others. Dr. O.C. and his beautiful wife Robbie, are the TRUE ANGELS of City At Angels, if you have the chance to be in Los Angeles, please visit our church; 5550 Grosvenor Boulevard. 310-577-3366.Love and Peace

Christian Book? I don't think so,
This review is from: Little Green Apples: God Really Did Make Them! (Paperback)
While I found many of the ideas expressed here to be interesting and even inspiring I was extremely put of by the authors' referring to God as "It". They claim to consider "The Great Teacher Jesus" to be the most important man who ever lived but, at the same time, they obviously don't treat Christian scriptures as authoritative with their unitarian and universalist approach. Jesus said, "Before Abraham was I AM." If the thought of Himself as merely a great teacher, it sure is odd that He didn't correct the Apostle Thomas when after the resurrection he exclaimed, "My Lord and my God!"And Jesus spoke extensively about Hell (a curious waste of time if nobody is really going there). So, the theology in this book is a hodge-podge of New Age-type stuff and whatever the authors wanted to pick from the Bible. Strange. If God is really Who the Bible says He (Not It!) is, I hope He has mercy on the kind of arrogance that leads people to set themselves up as the arbiters of truth. |
